Saturday, December 1, 1979: Up at 8:30. Washed & dressed. Had breakfast. Made bed. Hung drapes back up in bedroom. Don’t think they shrunk much. Paid bills about all day. Fed birds. Not so cold today. Washed load of clothes. Put away clothes. Called in SR order. Straightened up in dining room. Got supper. Did dishes. Read paper. Watched TV. To bed about 12:00. (Sam seems some better already) (May have Went Brooks for supper Mon. nite.)
Sunday, December 2, 1979: Up at 8:45. Got breakfast. Washed, washed & put up hair. Made bed. Dried hair & worked x-word puzzle. Worked at odd jobs. Carla came about 3:30. We fitted her pattern & then I cut out her dress. Sam was frisking around & played with the dress material scraps. Got supper. Carla left about 7:00. I did dishes. Then worked on Carla’s dress while I watched TV. To bed about 12:45.
Monday, December 3, 1979: Up at 8:30. Didn’t sleep very well last nite. Dressed, had breakfast. Put out garbage & fed birds. Made bed. Cleaned up dining room. Vacuumed kitchen floor. Washed load of clothes. Sewed on Carla’s dress. Got supper. Did dishes. Sewed some more. Watched TV. Read paper. To bed about 12:30. Didn’t have Brooks for supper as he is leaving for Cal. tomorrow.
Tuesday, December 4, 1979: Up at 8:30. Washed & dressed. Had breakfast. Made bed. Fed birds. Did some sewing & mending. Washed white drapes in our room. Began drying them. Want to sew turquoise trim on bottom when they are dry. Got ready & went downtown. Got lunch & supper. Read paper, watched TV. Did dishes, put away groc. To bed about 12:45.
Wednesday, December 5, 1979: Up at 8:35. Dressed, had breakfast. Worked with drapes. Wrote letters to Leona, Susan, & Jean & Derek. Made bed. Fed birds. Dad went to Boise – had lunch with girls. I put away tomato juice & some more summer clothes. Got supper. Turned on Xmas lites tonite. Linda came over to do checks. I did dishes, read paper, watched TV. Made a batch of fudge. Can’t find my other candy recipes. Wonder where they are? To bed at 1:00.
Thursday, December 6, 1979: Up at 8:20. Took shower, dressed. Had breakfast. Made up deposit. Made bed. Got ready to go downtown. Fed birds & hung up robe for Mrs. M. Left for town about 12:30. Ate lunch at Saratoga – used free certs. from carnival. Very good. Mailed greetings to England – cost 62c ea! Got Jay’s batt. charger. Meg came home with me for supper – Matt was invited to Marks for his birthday. They went home about 8:30. Did dishes, read paper, watched TV. To bed about 12:00.
Friday, December 7, 1979: Up at 8:30. Dressed, had breakfast. Fixed & hung drape in bedroom. Fed birds, made bed. Got lunch. Put up more Xmas decorations. Cleaned living room. Cut off peony tops, planted crocus, covered azalea plants. Not very cold outside. Got supper. Did dishes, read paper. (Baked cake for Mattie for his birthday – Linda going to ice & decorate it). Watched TV. Sorted thru part of box in kitchen. To bed at 1:00.

Sunday, December 9, 1979: Up at 9:00. Got breakfast. Washed & dressed. Fixed & hung 3rd drape. Sewed on Carla’s dress. Got it ready to try on. Made bed, fed birds, etc. Carla came about 2:00. Got supper. Worked on her chairs & got 2 of them done. Really look nice. Sewed sleeve in her dress – it fits nice, too. Helped her take dresser. Didn’t leave until about 8:00. Bill called – was worried because she wasn’t home yet. She called about 9:00. I did dishes, watched TV. Then did x-word puzzle. To bed about 12:30.
Monday, December 10, 1979: Up at 9:00. Dressed, had breakfast. Siphoned off wine & put it away. About ¾ gall. a little sour but tastes pretty good. Got lunch. Fed birds, etc. Made bed. Worked on Carla’s dress. Got supper, did dishes, read paper, watched TV. Sewed some more. To bed about 1:15.
Tuesday, December 11, 1979: Up at 8:30. Washed, dressed, had breakfast. Made bed. Set another batch of wine. Sewed on Carla’s dress. Have it nearly finished. Got lunch. Got ready & went downtown. Got order at Sears & got groc. Got supper, put away groc. Did dishes. Watched TV. To bed at 1:00. (No Xmas cards yet.) (Mary Wolfe in hospital. Think she might have an ulcer.)
Wednesday, December 12, 1979: Up at 8:15. Dressed, had breakfast. Made bed. Fed birds. Decided to work on greetings & just use what I have on hand. Got them all addressed. Still have to write a few letters & notes yet but at least they’re ready. Dad didn’t come home for lunch. Got supper, did dishes. Made up checks & deposit, then worked on Xmas tree. Put on lights & tinsel. Looks pretty good since I stuck in the extra branches. Will finish it tomorrow. Read part of paper. To bed about 1:00. Meg doesn’t have chicken pox yet.
Thursday, December 13, 1979: Up at 8:00. Had breakfast. Took shower & dressed. Made up FTD. Fed birds. Put glass balls on tree. Made bed. Got ready & went downtown. Got license for Dodge P.U. Dad has to go himself & take care of citation. Kids came home with me for supper. Johnny came in & had a hot dog but didn’t eat much of it. Stayed till shortly before they left. They helped me put satin balls on tree. After they left I did dishes, read paper, watched TV. Wrote letter to Marilyn. To bed at 12:00.
Friday, December 14, 1979: Up at 8:15. Dressed, had breakfast. Drew letters on Shaw’s calendar & embroidered them on sewing machine. Got lunch. Made bed. Made candy – fudge w/nuts. Fed birds. Finished decorate tree (icicles). Cleaned living room & vacuumed kitchen. Got supper. Read paper, did dishes. Wrapped candy for Shaw’s & got pkg. ready to mail. To bed about 1:00.
Saturday, December 15, 1979: Up at 8:45. Telephone rang first thing. Washed & dressed. Wrote letters. Got pkgs. ready to send. Jelly to Alice & Al, candy to Sams, Leona & Marie. Got lunch & supper. Meg not feeling very well in morning so suspicious. By evening she was breaking out so has the chicken pox. Cried & cried when she found out because she won’t get to go to Church program tomorrow nite. Did dishes, read paper. Wrote more letters. Watched TV. To bed about 1:00.
Sunday, December 16, 1979: Up at 8:45. Got breakfast. Washed & dressed. Got baby bed & hi-chair down. Washed & put up hair. Started working on Carla’s dress. Got it all ready to try on when she came. Had to alter it in back a little, put up hem & sew on other part of snap & hook. Looks real pretty. Got supper & started dishes. Then over to Lindas to stay with Megan at 6:30. She’s so sweet. Not feeling bad at all but more blisters than Matt. Got home about 8:30. Finished dishes, watched TV. Wrote more letters. To bed about 1:00. 2 more letters to go!
Monday, December 17, 1979: Up at 8:00. Dad sure trimmed shrubs yesterday! Dressed, had breakfast. Fed birds. Started working on books. Came out right first time! So glad. Finished up cards & letters! What a relief. Dad didn’t come home for lunch. Got supper. Read paper, did dishes. Made batch of fudge w/nuts. Wrapped big gifts. To bed about 1:30.
Tuesday, December 18, 1979: Up at 8:45. Washed & dressed. Had breakfast. Made bed. Swept stairs. Vacuumed in laundryroom & big room downstairs. Fed birds. Wrapped Cindy’s gift. Got several more gifts packaged. Got lunch. Jay’s pkgs arrived. Got ready & went downtown. Took stuff to bookkeeper. Got PUC permits at courthouse. Got supper, did dishes, read paper. Made another batch of fudge without nuts. Cooked pan of tomatoes. Got few more pkgs. ready. To bed about 1:30.
Wednesday, December 19, 1979: Up at 9:00. Dressed. Had breakfast with my lunch. Meg feeling real good again. Fed birds. Made bed. Got lunch. Sent a couple more greetings. Ronnie finally brought mine last night – will have to use them next year. Cleaned family room & small bath. Got supper. Canned tomato juice (4 pts.). Did dishes. Made out checks & deposit. Wrapped more packages. Read paper. To bed at 2:00.
Thursday, December 20, 1979: Up at 8:00. Took shower, dressed. Had breakfast. Fed birds. Put out garbage. Went over to Lindas & stayed with Meg while she went down town. Got home around 12:30 so I had lunch & then got ready & went downtown. Got stuff from bookkeeper. When I got home, put away groc. Got supper. Matt & Megan came. Linda & Ted came about 8:00 & they went home about 8:30. I did dishes. Read paper. To bed about 12:30.
Friday, December 21, 1979: Up at 8:30. Dressed, had breakfast. Made bed. Cleaned living room. Sent cards to Carol & Debbie. Fixed last drape & hung it in our room. Cleaned & made up Cindy’s bed. Cleaned up high chair. Put names on Mike & Cindy’s socks & hung all on fireplace. Got lunch. Fed birds. Vacuumed kitchen. Washed load of col. clothes. Also load of work clothes. Dusted part of dining room. Got supper. Did dishes, read paper. Watched TV. Wrapped more pkgs. Entered accts. & on accts. in book. To bed about 1:00.
Saturday, December 22, 1979: Up at 8:45. Jay’s come today. Had breakfast. Changed our bed. Cleaned our room. Cleaned up pink room & straightened bed. Washed & put up hair. Cleaned lge. bath. Vacuumed kitchen & liv. rm. a little. Cleaned dining room & utility. Got supper. Did dishes. About 9:35 left for Nampa. Got there about 10:00 & train didn’t come until nearly 11:00. Was so good to see them get off the train. When we got home got them some lunch & Nancy put Cindy right to bed. She was asleep. Then we all went to bed.
Sunday, December 23, 1979: Up about 8:30. Got breakfast. Did dishes. Fixed lunch. Linda, Ted & kids came. Then Carla. Started to snow so she didn’t stay for supper. Lindas did. Went down & got turkey in P.M. Got to bed about 12:30.
Monday, December 24, 1979: Up at about 8:30. Straightened up house. Got lunch. Linda, Ted & kids came over. Nancy & I went downtown a little bit. Found Dad some overshoes. Got supper. Paula & Jim came & brought Matt’s bird & presents. Then went down to Jim’s folks. Carla came about 9:00. Then Paula & Jim came back. Finished gifts, fixed socks, then went to bed. About 1:00.
Tuesday, December 25, 1979: Mike came down & woke us at 7:10. Got up & opened presents. Then had breakfast. Got turkey in oven at 11:00, then did dishes. Washed & dressed. Fixed cran. sauce & jello. Cleaned off tables & got them set. Finished up supper & ate about 6:00. Did dishes, then Paula cut my hair. Did more dishes & straightened kitchen. To bed about 12:00. Boy! Am I tired!
Wednesday, December 26, 1979: Up at 8:30. Eating breakfast when Mike came out & didn’t look well & had a deep cough. Nancy took his temp & he had 101.6 so I called the Dr. & we took him. Had bronchitis so got some medicine. Temp came down some & he wasn’t coughing any more. In afternoon put away dishes. Sliced & trimmed off turkey. Made beds & helped Nancy do some washing. Got supper. Did dishes. Paid bills. Made out checks. To bed at 1:00.
Thursday, December 27, 1979: Up at 8:00. Had breakfast. Got things ready to go downtown. Took Joe’s Xmas things back, etc. Got home about 3:00. Put groc. away. Got supper. Did dishes. To bed at 11:30.
Friday, December 28, 1979; Up at 8:30. Had breakfast. Washed & dressed. Washed clothes. Fed birds. Got clothes packed. Got down suitcase. Talked to Linda – they came over in afternoon. Sewed on my N. blue coat. Got lunch. Got supper. Did dishes. Paula & Jim came over & they played cards. Linda, Ted & kids came, too. Cindy pretty cross for a while this evening. Mike feeling pretty good again but chest still tight. Hope it’s loose in morning. To bed at 1:30.

Monday, December 31, 1979: Up at 8:15. Guys gone. Had breakfast. Took shower. Washed & put up hair. Got lunch. Fried chicken. Did dishes. Vacuumed house. Made sandwiches. Got supper. Did dishes. Linda & Ted came about 7:00. Paula & Jim & Carla about 8:00. Left shortly after 12:00. I got to bed about 1:30. Carla called & said was very foggy going home.
